Weekend Review.
Today has been a great week for myself and for Captured Melody. I feel I have so many things that I need to get taken care of. Overall I got my Seller’s License this week. Went with my mom Elvira to go look for shirts at the LA Fashion District on Saturday. Didn’t see much, but I did find some good research online and found something I like. I’d like to offer something unique and different as a trendy piece with possible jewelry and a nice T-shirt as well as a tank top option. Going to then have the shirts screen printed so I have a bunch of stuff to do. I have also been busy trying to figure out a design and making in in IllustratorCS4 Designing for apparel is so much different than video or print. Big learning curve once again. If anyone is interested in doing it or can offer some guidance please let me know I have the design just need to design it for print.
I also went apartment hunting with Corey on Sunday and didn’t have much luck, but yet we may be in luck that a friend has a vacancy in her complex. Kudos to timing. Well see about that. Also twitter followers have grown to 1,500 let’s see what we can do. I need to get some more followers and fans on facebook. Networking is tough but rewarding. Especially social networking.
I myself have been blessed with an amazing opportunity and hopefully all will go well. So peace and blessings to everyone and I hope you wished for some good things this week and I hope they are coming true.
My Captured Melody Ride.

So I decided to post this pic up. LOL It’s me and my mustang spreading the word of Captured Melody on the freeway or a parking lot near you. So I thought of what I could do next to help drive people to the site to help support me. I had to take gorilla tactics head on so I decided make the sign pretty big. Now all I need is an html of my site so those iphone users in their car can check out my site.
I have a huge journey in front of me and I need to hold on tight to the ride to get me to where I need to be next. I heard the full moon in coming soon and there may be some Aquarian energy coming my way. And an eclipse somewhere in there LOL. But I guess for most is to keep manifesting and working. I got myself a candle that’s half gold and green and a vial of some Jupiter oil. Planning to manifest energies.
Fairy Power!
Next things to do.

So I’ve contacted another promo company to talk about coming up with some items for the store. Like I said earlier I wasn’t to happy with the on demand printing.
I went to the LA fashion district with Costume Designer Edith Raya and we looked at different shirt styles which would be great to sell on the website.
Next, I have to work harder to find a producer for my film. I need some more help to move this project forward. And doing it all by myself can be overwhelming. Thank goodness I had Edith for some recent support. Some other things that I did this make is make two quick graphics. One for a Myspace thanks for the add and another for my blogs picture.
So beyond working on the shirts, I need to meet more people to help me on this journey.
On the other hand I saw a recent film contest that I would like to enter to I’m going to start working on a script and see what comes of it.
Got my shirt today!
So the shirt came in I expected some good packaging cause of the expense but I just got my shirt in a bag for the 7 dollar shipping fee. UPSP would have been cheaper! Now for the colors. They did not come out like I wanted them and the wings can barely be seen on parts of the back of the shirt. Overall I am disappointed with the service. But I’ll use the shirt @ the gym. I’m going to have to find a good place where I can make the shirts now.
T-shirt! Just ordered my first shirt from Printfection.com

I just ordered my first shirt from Printfection.com. Their uploading process was easy and they also had a $2.00 special on white t-shirts to check out the printing method! Shipping did seem kind of expensive though. I can wait to get it and see how their print quality is. I would really like to compare it to other companies to be sure my fans won’t be getting a product that are not up to my standards. But I guess with any print on demand things can happen. I’m not really fond of the plain white t shirt, but I’m excited to see how things come out. I would totally sport this at the gym though! I would like to create a store on my website soon and on this blog to help raise money for my film. Does anyone have any thoughts on print on demand with t-shirts or maybe you would like to share an experience with me on my blog?
Have a wonderfairyfull day!
Taking the Steps to Network and Expand
So yesterday I took the steps to go out and Join Women in Film LA to meet other women filmmakers in hopes to meet connections and learn more about the business of movie making. Last night I attended the screenings at Kodak for the 1st Women in Film event that I attended. There were three interesting stories, one was a documentary which was about the LA River called Heather and Goliath by Magic Pebble Media and another call Spent from AFI, which was about a woman struggling with her live and her situation with living a live beyond her means. And finally a romantic comedy called All Dressed Up.
My expectations for joining the group will be to discuss my film with others and find ways to help other filmmakers as well. I’ll keep the blog posted about other events that I will attend in the near future and my experiences. Possibly I’ll send some tweets as well.
Also on another front, the store is going to be a go! So I have to get some things together today for my cafe express account. I personally would like to buy my own mech and sell it, but I have to print on demand. I have some other ideas as well so things will be coming soon.
I wonder if that’s how things are in the fairy world. Are fairies out and about networking. Traveling to different lands to communicate with others. Or do they just exist and fade in and out of our imaginations. I’d like to things there a lot like us, only with some of them having magic powers and other without, but they still work together to sustain there way of life.
What Are You Expecting?
More then likely you clicked on a link from Plushandblood.com to get to this site. I have been looking at my google analytics specs and trying to work out the best functionality for my website and blog. It seems that most of you click right away to the blog. What are you expecting from the blog that you are not getting from my site? Yeah that’s right. This is a shout out to anyone who finds this blog pretty much. What are you expecting to get from this blog. I would love some input or perhaps some input on my website www.capturedmelody.com.
As the viewer, what are you looking for here, what do you expect. This will better help me work on fairy blog, which is a blog to account the events of raising funds for my film and also other things as well. What can I do to meet or make your expectations that you have?
Best,
Melissa Garza
